Job Title:

• Set up and operate large manual lathes and milling machines to machine complex parts to precise specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, tolerances, and machining requirements to determine proper machining methods.
• Perform manual machining operations including turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, slotting, and contouring.
• Calculate and adjust feeds, speeds, and depths of cut based on material type and job requirements.
• Machine a variety of materials including steel, aluminum, titanium, plastics, and other alloys.
• Complete machine setups, tooling changes, workpiece alignment, and fixture installation to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor machining operations, identify tooling wear or vibration issues, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Operate large manual lathes with up to 50"-60" swing and work on parts up to 40 feet in length.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to verify dimensions, tolerances, and overall quality.
• Maintain a safe work environment while working with large industrial equipment in a hands-on machine shop setting.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating manual lathes and milling machines.
• Strong blueprint reading and machining math skills.
• Experience with machine setup, tool changes, and precision measurement tools.
• CNC machining experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
