About the Position

A healthcare facility in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Locum Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage. The physician will manage gastrointestinal conditions, perform advanced endoscopic procedures, and collaborate with APPs to support inpatient rounds .

The role includes performing colonoscopy, EUS, and ERCP procedures while managing a moderate inpatient census with APP support. The physician will work within a modern hospital environment utilizing EPIC EMR , providing high-quality care to patients requiring specialized gastroenterology services.

Shift Timings:

• 24-hour call coverage
• On-site coverage required during part of call
• Coverage Dates: June 12 – June 19
• Additional ongoing dates may be available

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

• Fellowship Trained in Gastroenterology

• Active Iowa Medical License or IMLC eligibility

• Proficiency in EUS and ERCP procedures

• Clean malpractice and background history

• Recent NPDB report required
