Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Charlottesville, VA | Pediatric / Children's Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a pediatric children's hospital setting, including Neuro Diagnostics support
• Deliver care in a Level 4 NICU environment, managing complex neonatal patients
• Support cardiac PICU patients as needed within scope of practice
• Float within scope of practice to other units as operationally required
• Participate in a self-scheduling model; scheduling accommodations are made on a best-effort basis and a specific schedule cannot be guaranteed
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as assigned (up to 16 non-billable hours during orientation)

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Active Virginia state license required; pending VA license accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the start date — candidate must hold an active license in at least one other state to be eligible for a temporary VA license
• Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
• RTO limited to a maximum of 40 hours per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience strongly preferred
• ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialist) credential preferred
