Access up to 50% of your earned net wages at any time during your pay period; small fees apply.Essential Functions:The Dietary Manager determines quality and quantity of food required plans and prepares master menus for residents of the center. Supervises the planning of menus for therapeutic diets, and controls food costsSupervises food production and service programs, as well as departmental staff involvedEnsure food preparation for optimal nutrition and economic handling of food, as well as efficient usage of time. Maintain and issue a file of standardized recipes adjusted to the proper yieldPlan menus, purchase food and assign duties for special functions. Adapt master menu cycle to individual and Oak Park Healthcare preference with Consultant DieticianCheck food for flavor, temperature, and appearance on a regular basisWith Contract Dietician, monitor nutritional status of residents using regular assessments, progress notes and dietary care planningPrepare departmental budget on an annual basisMake frequent inspection of all work, storageSkills of the Dietary Manager:Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a teamAbility to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organizationAbility to react decisively and quickly in emergency situationsKnowledge of training techniques for clinical staffAbility to maintain confidentialityRequirements of the Dietary Manager:Ability to read, write and speak the English LanguageCompletion of an approved state food service supervisor courseHigh school diploma or GEDOrganization and management skills1 year of experienceAAP/EEO StatementOur facility provides equal employment opportunities.
