About the Position

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every other weekend and some holidays required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Acute Medical/Progressive Care setting as well as an IMC Thoracic unit
• Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry, including oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown populations
• Care for patients requiring ventilator management and transplant support
• Float to other units as needed based on patient care demands
• Adhere to all unit protocols, compliance standards, and pass/fail testing requirements prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum of two years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last three years in the applicable specialty
• Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• Must pass a telemetry examination prior to start (passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required on adult exam)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
• Familiarity with both adult and pediatric telemetry rhythm interpretation
