Physician Assistant - Inpatient Surgery (All Shifts)

Overview The Surgery Department at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team. In this strictly inpatient, non-OR based position, the APP will work alongside experienced physician and APP colleagues managing diverse trauma and surgical patients in the inpatient setting. Responsibilities Perform medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse acute care surgical patients. Respond to and manage the care of trauma patients throughout their hospital course inclusive of ICU, ED, and inpatient floor. Deliver direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team. Gain competency in procedures including central line placement/removal, chest tube insertion/removal, and arterial lines. Qualifications Board certified as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and licensed in New York, or able to obtain license. Minimum of 1 year experience; new graduates with interest in inpatient surgical care considered. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary team.
