About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Must have a state RN license in hand at the start of the contract Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Must be able to scrub and circulate general operating room cases. Experience with circulating and scrubbing general operating room cases such as plastics, colorectal, urology, and surgical oncology is highly preferred. First-timers are not preferred. A radiation badge is required, and it will be provided by the agency. Description: General Operating Room Registered Nurse position available. The shift will consist of working three 12-hour days, Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. On-call requirements are approximately 5-8 calls per month, including weekends. Holiday call may also be required. The position is based in a Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Facility. The facility has a total of 820 staffed beds. The daily census involves providing care to adult patients with various diagnoses. Interdisciplinary support is available, including teams from IV, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response, and pharmacy. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. Hurricane season runs from June through November, with peak months being August and September. The candidate must comply with infection control procedures and safety protocols. Administration of blood and blood products, cardiac monitoring, and code response capabilities are also essential functions.
