Quick Facts: Location: Portsmouth, VA Start Date: 08/30/2026 Duration: 6 months with potential for permanent placement Shift: Monday–Friday, day shifts Hours/week: 40 Employment Type: Locum-to-Perm Licenses/Certifications: Active PA license, DEA, BLS Experience: Prior Cardiothoracic Surgery experience preferred Pay & Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $17.16 Pay package discussed upon application Benefits include: Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time per applicable laws Licensure, travel, and certification reimbursements Robust referral bonus program 24/7 dedicated support team What You’ll Do: Assist in adult inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic surgeries Conduct pre-operative assessments and patient histories Support perioperative care and post-op recovery Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and medical staff Manage patient visits, documentation, and EMR updates in EPIC Participate in weekend rounds and on-call coverage as scheduled What You Need: Required: Active Physician Assistant license in Virginia Minimum 2 years of surgical PA experience, preferably in cardiothoracic care Certification in BLS Ability to obtain hospital privileges (training provided) Preferred: Previous experience in adult inpatient settings Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to adapt to fast-paced surgical environments About the Assignment: Join a reputable team at a leading facility in Portsmouth, VA, specializing in cardiothoracic surgery.
