Job Requirements

• Active Physician Assistant license in Virginia
• Active DEA registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• At least 1 year of relevant clinical experience required
• Training or experience in cardiothoracic surgery required
• Comfort working in a hospital-based adult inpatient environment
• Ability to participate in night and weekend call coverage
• Hospital privileges required
• Strong communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult cardiothoracic surgery patients in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Support weekday coverage, night call, and weekend call as scheduled
• Participate in weekend rounds and manage follow-up care for assigned patients
• Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and coordinate with the surgical team
• Document assessments, plans, and progress accurately in the EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to ensure efficient, high-quality care
• Help maintain smooth workflow in a busy surgical service environment
