Job ID: A-PA-69735 Profession: Physician Assistant Specialty: PA - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery Job Type: Locum-to-Permanent Location: Portsmouth, VA Coverage Period: ASAP Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri; 7a-3p At least 2 weeks on/off Call Schedule: 3p-7a (night call) & 24-hr call (7a-7a) weekends % of Practice: 75% IP, 25% OP Reason for Coverage: Short-staffed Patient Demographics: 100% Adult Rounding: 5-10 patients EMR: Epic Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 90-120 days Board: BC/BE Licenses: Active VA license DEA: Active DEA certification Experience: Training/experience required Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care to cardiothoracic surgery patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. First assist in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures. Perform daily rounds on inpatients, manage post-operative care. Participate in weekend rounding and call coverage (nights and weekends). Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
