Mainframe System Automation Migration Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and operations sector, is seeking a dedicated Mainframe System Automation Migration Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Mainframe System Automation Migration Engineer, you will be an integral part of the automation support team, contributing to the seamless migration and enhancement of mainframe automation solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Mainframe System Automation Migration Engineer

Location: Remote (US-based)

What's the Job?

• Lead migration projects from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS and from CA Automation Point to IBM SAIOM.

• Configure and implement IBM Systems Automation solutions, including policy-based automation for z/OS environments.

• Develop and maintain automation rules, REXX scripts, and System Automation Policy Database (PDB) configurations.

• Assist with installation and configuration of IBM automation products to ensure optimal system performance.

• Collaborate with operations teams to optimize system startup, shutdown, and recovery processes, ensuring high availability and operational efficiency.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 5+ years experience in mainframe operations, support, or consultancy roles.

• Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with IBM Tivoli Systems Automation for z/OS.

• Proficiency in CA OPS/MVS, TSO, ISPF, and JCL.

• Strong scripting skills in REXX and working knowledge of System Automation Policy Database (PDB).

• Proven experience in z/OS automation migration projects and familiarity with NetView for z/OS.
