Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments and comprehensive evaluations to ascertain clients' emotional and psychological needs.

• Develop customized treatment plans based on thorough evaluations, aligning with best practices in psychotherapy and the latest developments in mental health care.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic techniques relevant to client needs, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness interventions.

• Document client histories and treatment progress meticulously, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems such as AVATAR to ensure accurate and effective communication regarding treatment outcomes.
\n
• Assess and monitor client progress within prescribed treatment plans, making necessary adjustments to support optimal recovery.
\n
• Collaborate proactively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare providers, to create comprehensive care solutions for clients.
\n
• Engage in proactive follow-up with any external specialists involved in care, especially for clients transitioning from inpatient facilities to outpatient therapy.
\n
• Identify and address barriers to recovery, providing strategies to mitigate their impact on clients’ mental health.
\n
• Support family members and primary caregivers through education and strategies to manage mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and other emotional and behavioral issues. A strong emphasis is placed on building trusting relationships and creating an environment where clients feel safe and heard, ultimately leading to improved mental health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active, valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or LCSW-R in New York.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficient understanding and hands-on experience with EHR systems, such as AVATAR, is preferred.
\n
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to connect with clients from various backgrounds.
\n
• Demonstrated empathetic and supportive interpersonal skills, crucial for fostering therapeutic relationships with clients.
