FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Overview We are hiring for full and part-time FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER positions. Location: Continental Tire, 11525 N. IL Highway 142, Mount Vernon, IL 62864. Online applications accepted only. Responsibilities Perform cashiering duties and general food service tasks while maintaining sanitation standards in preparation, service, and dining areas. Conduct prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure designated ingredients. Carry pans, kettles, and trays to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator; distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food safety procedures; clean work areas, equipment, and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements; use approved recipes and production standards to maintain quality and portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner and resolve customer questions or concerns. Relay relevant information to the supervisor; perform sales transactions and enter sales into the cash register; handle cash, declined balance cards and other accepted payment methods; issue receipts and process refunds as needed. Manage change funds and cash receipts to ensure the cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Customer service skills. Food handler's card (required or preferred as noted in posting). Cashier experience preferred. Benefits and Details Pay rate: $15.25 per hour. Schedule: Full-time and part-time; days and hours may vary. Must be available to work nights and weekends. More details upon interview.
