Specialty Fulfillment Pharmacist- PRN

Job Summary: This pharmacist role ensures accurate dispensing and delivery of medications to patients. Core responsibilities include drug information provision to patients and providers, overseeing fulfillment teams, patient counseling, inventory maintenance, and compliance with drug therapy and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Provide drug information to patients and healthcare providers. Oversee fulfillment team members to ensure complete and timely receipt of medications. Consult patients, provide counseling, and ensure compliance with drug therapy. Maintain inventory, logs, and product verification. Ensure proper procedures in shipment and delivery of medications. Perform patient assessments, manage refills, and conduct clinical interventions. Perform drug utilization review, product verification, shipping, and workflow management. Act as liaison between insurance companies, patients, providers, and specialty pharmacy team. Maintain documentation related to the job. Assume responsibility for professional development and continued education, including multi‑state licensure. Foster an environment of teamwork and engagement. Assist with special projects/committees. Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with company policies and accrediting bodies. Adapt communication and behavior to the specific patient population. Other related duties as required. Qualifications Education Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). Work Experience Required: 2 years’ experience as a pharmacist. Preferred: Experience in specialty pharmacy. Experience with chronically ill patients. Certification Required: License to practice Pharmacy in the State of Louisiana. Preferred: Multi‑state licensure. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Effective verbal and written communication skills for presenting information clearly to various individuals. Proficiency with Windows-style applications and other role‑specific software. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong Excel skills. Physical and Environmental Demands Medium work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Requires walking, standing, pushing/pulling. No exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue. Potential exposure to hazardous medications and waste.
