Staff Accountant IC Portsmouth, NH, US Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually Staff Accountant Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of a fiber telecommunications company. This role maintains accurate accounting records for Cost of Sale accounts, supports monthly, quarterly and year-end close cycle, and performs account reconciliations. The Staff Accountant works closely with finance, accounting and operation teams to ensure that network-related costs are recorded accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities Complete general ledger account analysis and monthly accrual calculations for Cost of Sale accounts. Prepare and post journal entries with complete supporting documentation. Analyze account balances and variances, research discrepancies, and prepare correcting entries. Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities and meet established deadlines. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy. Collaborate with internal departments and respond to accounting-related requests. Support ad-hoc accounting projects Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 2-5 years of general accounting experience Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and accrual accounting. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and data reconciliation. Strong attention to detail, analytical judgment, and follow-through. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
