Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders for residents.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each patient’s goals and medical status.
- Provide direct therapy for communication and swallowing disorders; modify therapy plans based on progress and tolerance.
- Screen and treat dysphagia; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, appropriate diet textures and recommended compensatory strategies.
- Document evaluation findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the patient record; ensure compliance with privacy and facility policies.
- Educate residents, families, and care teams about therapy goals, progress, and strategies to support communication and safe swallowing.

Requirements
- Active speech-language pathology license in Massachusetts
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certification standards: ASHA-CCC-SLP preferred (or equivalent per state requirements)
- Experience in acute care or skilled nursing settings is preferred
- Ability to work on-site in Great Barrington, MA and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
