Mobile Light/Medium Duty Technician

Position Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to join our recently acquired company, Corcoran Fleet Services , to support growth. The Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician will perform Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, licensed DOT inspections, and other duties at customer locations. The role includes continuing development of advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques. A successful technician complies with company policies and achieves high performance metrics. Responsibilities You will work on various light/medium duty vehicles such as F-150, F-250, and F-350, including some specialty equipment. Travel is required 100% of the time; service may span multiple customers in your area and around the state depending on concentration. Follow a rotating schedule (Mon-Fri the first week, Mon-Sat the second week; home every day). This is a flat-rate position with abundant work available. Follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures. Travel to and perform work at customer locations, with most work performed outside. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light and medium vehicles in the field. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesels tools, lifts, and jacks. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, engine electronics, transmissions, and related components. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various vehicle systems (electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, air conditioning, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.). Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using scanners and pressure gauges. Identify problems, determine accuracy of information, and evaluate alternatives. Independently determine parts required, order, and pick up parts for installation. Document work according to company standards and upload RO findings and parts used using company tools. Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion, as applicable. Maintain a clean and safe work environment; assist in end-of-day cleanup for tools, parts, and equipment. Apply knowledge from formal training or on-the-job experience to perform duties; work with teams to evaluate technical information. Coordinate with support teams to assess customer needs and resolve issues; manage competing tasks and priorities. Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all work activities. Maintain a high level of productivity and work within standard repair times where applicable. Communicate with corporate offices to obtain approvals on repair estimates, PO numbers, and RO findings. Participate in safety training as required and perform routine vehicle checks and daily pre/post-trip inspections. Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures. Requirements High School Diploma or GED preferred. Valid driver’s license; safe driving record required. Must supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Automotive Technician on light/medium vehicle repair or equivalent 2 years of equivalent experience in a similar technician role is preferred. Participate in and complete all required company training. Skills & Abilities Ability to understand the implications of new information for problem-solving and decision-making. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; tolerate moderately heavy labor. Strong communication skills; ability to convey information in a clear, organized manner. Ability to determine the tools and equipment needed for tasks. Good depth perception and spatial judgment; ability to gauge distances. Use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches. Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay range: $24.23 - $36.35 per hour; base rate may vary by location and candidate knowledge/abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation such as commission or incentive programs. Production-based pay with pay per flag hour; eligibility for additional compensation may apply.
