Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in managing personal injury cases from intake through litigation and resolution.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case intake, file organization, case management, and deadline tracking.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research resources.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and correspondence.
- Review and organize medical records, accident reports, and other evidence relevant to personal injury claims.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, medical providers, and experts to gather and follow up on case information.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files using legal case management software such as SmartAdvocate.
- Assist with litigation activities, including court filings, deposition scheduling, and preparation of trial exhibits.
- Perform document review, data entry, proofreading, transcription, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Assist with project management and ensure case-related tasks and deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, courts, medical providers, and other external parties.
- Proven experience as a Paralegal , preferably with a focus on plaintiff personal injury litigation .
- Candidates with experience in related litigation areas such as workers' compensation or family law may also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of legal research tools, including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong legal drafting, proofreading, document review, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines effectively.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with legal case management software; SmartAdvocate experience is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in an on-site, fast-paced legal environment.
- The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of personal injury litigation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
