Assistant Controller

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $130,000 to $160,000 per year. Job Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations by reviewing entries, reconciliations, and financial activities across multiple entities. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accurate reporting. Manage consolidation activities and maintain accuracy of general ledger records and supporting schedules. Coordinate with internal departments to support reporting requirements and improve operational efficiency. Maintain fixed asset records and oversee accounting related to capital projects and business investments. Requirements A Bachelor degree in accounting with professional certification considered beneficial. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership responsibilities. Demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting practices. Possess experience within real estate or property related accounting environments. Use Excel at an advanced level and work effectively with accounting software platforms. Qualifications Develop and support accounting staff through training, guidance, and performance feedback. Maintain strong internal controls and promote compliance across all accounting functions. Prepare clear documentation reports and accounting procedures with strong technical writing skills. Manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
