ResponsibilitiesPromotes the Gilbane Cares safety cultureEnsures contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, STAs, etc.Ensures contractors meet Gilbane safety submittal requirementsEnsures contractor compliance with Gilbane safety plan & expectationsMaintains all safety related documentationMakes recommendations concerning situations hazardous to employee safety or healthUtilizes SafetyNet to audit and monitor project team implementation of the Safety PlanPerforms at least 15 SafetyNet inspections per month with at least 100 observations in each inspectionProvides safety training to project teams on Gilbane, client, and OSHA requirementsInvestigates all accidents/near misses and complete all paperwork requiredEnsures project teams have safety equipment and resourcesQualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONSafety or Engineering college level coursework preferred0-2 years of relevant experienceOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESWorking knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methodsKnowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policiesCapable of identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective actionComputer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suiteBasic written and verbal communication skillsInterpersonal skillsSalary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.For Phoenix, AZ this ranges from $64,000 - $85,000 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
