Sales Clerk FT 6815 Full Time 30-40 hrs Chesapeake Exchange, Chesapeake, VA, US Join our team as a Sales Clerk serving the brave men and women of the military and their families! In this dynamic role, you'll provide exceptional customer service, assist with product selection, and ensure a smooth shopping experience for customers. Duties Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge and help with selection of merchandise. React to all customer concerns quickly with a sense of importance. Sell merchandise, provide outstanding customer service, demonstrate and explain technical features of items sold. Take periodic stock counts and may participate in inventory. Replenish stock and maintain merchandise in a neat and presentable condition. Advise supervisor/department head of customer requests. Process cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards and gift cards, give accurate change, and maintain record of sales. Perform price changes and set company promotions, ensuring proper display and signage. Follow all policies regarding Loss Prevention, safety standards, and emergency preparedness requirements. Works weekends and performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Potential to stock merchandise, assist patrons and operate a cash register; must read, comprehend and explain product literature and perform basic arithmetic for stocking and inventory; evidenced by high school coursework, GED or high school diploma. Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time. Preferred Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience.
