Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years for first-time travelers License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: AHA ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS, TELE Must-Have: Experience charting with Epic Description: The position is for a progressive care unit. The unit focuses on surgical trauma patients. The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, flexing up to 1:5 as needed. Telemetry monitoring is equipped for up to 14 patients. Patients are typically hemodynamically stable and may have injuries related to traumatic experiences. Examples of patient conditions include gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accidents, and falls. The unit collaborates with interdisciplinary support services, including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services. Nurses must be proficient in managing various medical equipment and patient care protocols. Candidates should have strong skills in telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and care for surgical patients. Travelers must be willing to float to other units if census requires it.
