The HWE Team uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon’s CORE principles. HWE’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation. The Radar Mechanical Design Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. This includes phased array radar systems, electronic modules, pedestals, and power and liquid cooling systems. The department comprises individuals with technical expertise and experience in all phases of hardware design, integration, and production support.The Senior Cooling Systems Engineer will support cooling and hydraulic systems used in a variety of harsh environmental military applications. Our primary role is to design and support the fabrication, testing, and installation of custom liquid-cooled systems for radars. We also support custom air-cooling of power and communication shelters.This position onsite either in our Marlborough, MA or Andover, MA location.What You Will DoWorking collaboratively with our customers to establish cooling systems requirementsMechanical design, analysis, and documentation of cooling hardware and system Selection of components including pumps and heat exchangersDrawing generation, drawing release, and drawing change incorporationResolution of change requests from manufacturing or suppliersProvide technical conscience, challenged with making sure the product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements.Factory and supplier support of product integration domestically and internationallyWillingness to travel to domestic Raytheon sites, suppliers, and government facilities.Willingness for international travel to Middle East, Asia, and Europe to foreign sites, suppliers, and facilities.Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant prior experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.Experience in the fields of Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and/or Heat Transfer.Engineering project experience involving cooling systems – liquid cooling or air cooling.Experience in solid modeling tools such as Pro/Engineer, Solidworks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or similar tool.Qualifications We PreferAn advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).Experienced in the application of ANSI 14.5M – 1994 (1982), Geometric Dimension & Tolerance.Proficiency in Product Data Management (PDM) or equivalent configuration/data management softwareCollaborate with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.Experience with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointWhat We Offer A total rewards package that goes above and beyond with compensation; healthcare, wellness, and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
