Company Overview

A state-operated behavioral healthcare organization providing inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health services. The facility supports adult and geriatric populations through specialized treatment units, including forensic mental health, admissions, therapeutic rehabilitation, and geropsychiatric care.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care for patients receiving inpatient psychiatric treatment. The RN assesses patient conditions, administers medications and treatments, collaborates with physicians and clinical staff, responds to emergencies, maintains accurate documentation, and promotes a safe therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions.
• Observe patient symptoms and communicate clinical findings to physicians.
• Develop individualized care plans with interdisciplinary teams.
• Administer medications, injections, and physician-ordered treatments.
• Perform routine nursing procedures and maintain patient records.
• Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies.
• Maintain infection control, hygiene, and patient safety standards.
• Supervise and support LPNs and nursing assistants.
• Provide compassionate care to patients and families.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Work within specialized psychiatric treatment units as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum one year of recent psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts.
• Strong assessment, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in forensic psychiatry.
• Experience in state psychiatric hospitals.
• Geropsychiatric nursing experience.
• Experience working with behavioral health or correctional populations.
