Phlebotomist, Clin Svcs Tech-Ambulatory

Overview Clinical Services Technician collects pathology specimens at free‑standing Ambulatory Care Centers. Responsibilities include registration, processing, and allocation of laboratory specimens and orders from all sources; verification of proper patient/specimen identification; ensuring appropriateness of specimens and accompanying orders; organizing laboratory workflow and prioritizing processing and preparation of specimens for transport; maintaining a clean and orderly work environment and proper PAR levels of supplies; using requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test, accession, label, and package specimens; performing procedures within established testing methods; conducting POCT, routine maintenance, and quality control procedures on specified equipment; troubleshooting as needed; managing patient wait times and expectations using computer systems; and demonstrating service excellence through friendly, professional communication and empathy. The technician also updates knowledge, skills, and competencies as required, works independently or as part of a team, and performs other duties as assigned.
