About the Position

License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: EPIC experience required. Proficiency in IV start. Experience with telemetry. Competency with ventilators. Description: The Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a critical care setting. The schedule includes rotating shifts of days and nights based on a 4-week cycle. The nurse will manage a caseload with patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2. Clinical duties include care of patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, and sepsis. The nurse will utilize specialized equipment, including NxStage CRRT and GE cardiac monitors. Continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia will be practiced in this role. The position includes interdisciplinary support from various healthcare professionals. The nurse will be required to float to different units within the organization as needed. Additionally, the role supports the management of ventilated patients and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Collaborative care and effective communication with the healthcare team are essential.
