The City of Beverly Hills is offering a $35,000 signing bonus for Police Officer Trainees.

The City of Beverly Hills Police Department is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer Trainee. Police Officer Trainees are non-sworn civilian employees until they successfully graduate from the Police Academy and are sworn in as Police Officers.

While distinctively uniformed as a non-sworn officer in training; develops minimum qualifications required for a career in law enforcement.

This position is represented by the Police Officers' Association and is covered by the negotiated terms and conditions of that Association's Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The selection process may consist of the following components: Application Review, Assessment of Supplemental Questionnaire, Written Exam, Performance Exam, Oral Interviews.

The candidates who successfully pass the selection process will earn placement on an Eligibility List. The Eligibility List may be used for current and future vacancies in the job classification, as defined by the duration of the list at the time the list is established. The Eligibility List established for any recruitment may also be used to fill a lower-level position.

A thorough background check, including a polygraph, will be conducted on the successful candidate. In addition to the background investigation, applicant is required to undergo a pre-employment polygraph examination.
