We're looking for a purpose-driven, independent leader to build and run their own business that sets the standard of care for people with disabilities in Pennsylvania.

APEX Partner Group exists to glorify God by serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and the people who care for them through locally led, purpose-driven, people-centered businesses. APEX partners with high-performing leaders to launch and scale businesses that deliver exceptional care to clients while being sought-after workplaces with an inspiring culture.

David Marvin founded APEX after building four I/DD businesses over the past decade that serve 1500+ clients and employ 1800+ people. Those businesses consistently raised the standard for compassionate care and workplace culture. APEX builds on that experience to provide the capital, operating playbook, executive coaching, shared services, and strategic partnership necessary to help local leaders build exceptional organizations. Today, APEX is operating in Washington, Idaho, Arizona, and Ohio. Pennsylvania represents its next strategic expansion as the team works toward a nationwide, 10-year goal of serving 20,000+ individuals with excellence.

As Managing Partner, you will have the opportunity to build and lead your own business while being supported by an experienced executive team, proven operating systems, shared services, and long-term capital. POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Managing Partner will launch, lead, and sustainably grow one of APEX's Pennsylvania business units to deliver exceptional, person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Serving as the CEO of their local market, this leader will build the team, culture, systems, and community relationships that drive long-term success. Because we are still choosing where to build first in Pennsylvania, the right leader can help decide the location where we launch.

Supported by APEX's playbook and experienced team, you will own the growth, financial performance, operational excellence, and cultural health of the business unit on a path to exceed $25 million in revenue and 500 employees.

You will not be dropped into ambiguity alone. You launch with APEX’s proven playbook and EOS operating framework, startup capital, shared services for finance and compliance, ongoing support from an APEX operating partner, and a network of Managing Partners who are building these businesses in other markets. That support exists so your energy goes to people, growth, and community, not administrative headaches.

Months 1-6: Hire your core leaders, secure licensure and provider qualification, and open your first referral channels.

Months 6-18: Build your client census and caregiver base, and install the operating rhythms that make growth repeatable.

By year two: Achieve a self-sustaining, growing business unit that is unmistakably yours, and solidify the foundation for the long-term upside and impact this opportunity creates.

POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Champion APEX's mission, vision, and core values while creating a culture that prioritizes exceptional care for clients, families, and employees.
• Launch and grow the Pennsylvania business unit using APEX's proven operating playbook and EOS framework.
• Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team while creating clear accountability, succession plans, and ongoing coaching.
• Serve as the primary ambassador within the local community by developing strategic relationships with referral sources, case managers, healthcare providers, schools, county agencies, and community organizations.
• Personally drive business development efforts, establish a strong referral network, and build a reputation as the provider of choice within the market.
• Own all operational performance, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility for the business unit.
• Develop scalable systems, processes, and meeting rhythms that support long-term growth and operational excellence.
• Lead the business unit through disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, licensing, quality assurance, and ethical standards are consistently met while maintaining a commitment to exceptional care.
• Partner closely with APEX leadership to continuously improve the business while contributing ideas and best practices across the growing organization.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

You might be the right person for this role if:

• You have run a P&L or a business unit and felt the desire to put your fingerprints on something of your own.
• You build teams people do not want to leave.
• You are as comfortable with a spreadsheet as with a hard conversation, you lead with high emotional intelligence and self-awareness, and you solve problems before they land on someone else’s desk.
• You are an entrepreneurial, independent learner who is comfortable operating in ambiguity.
• Above all, you want your work to matter, and you have been looking for a way to pair that purpose with real financial upside and the freedom to build it your way.

What you bring:

• 5-10+ years of progressive leadership experience leading teams or a business unit.
• Proven ability to build teams, develop leaders, and create accountability systems.
• Experience owning operational performance and quality.
• Strong business acumen with comfort interpreting financial metrics and operating a P&L.
• Exceptional relationship builder capable of developing trust with employees, referral partners, and community stakeholders.
• Passion for serving vulnerable people with excellence, dignity, and integrity.
• Startup or high-growth organizations experience.
