Position Title Summer Finance Specialist - Concordia Language Villages Position Details Position Type: Seasonal Employment Type: Hourly Non-Exempt Location: Bemidji Employment Period: Up to 3 months between June - August (minimum 5 weeks) Job Summary As a Summer Finance Specialist, you will work with the Finance Coordinator to support the finance and retail departments and provide assistance to the human resources and transportation teams. You will ensure business and administrative tasks are completed throughout the Language Village programs and serve as a mentor for Village Summer Office Coordinators. Responsibilities Manage purchasing systems and maintain records of all expenses and program budgets. Oversee Village bank and stores, including tracking of village currency, villager account funds, store set‐ups, and stock levels. Communicate with villager families regarding outstanding balances and financial matters. Complete financial and retail reports. Drive villagers and staff in a vehicle when necessary. General Responsibilities for All Positions Be familiar with and abide by specific policies set forth in the “Personnel Policies.” Read and become familiar with your specific area of assignment responsibilities. Read all provided materials before arriving at the Village. Report to orientation prior to first session as designated. Assist with setting up the Village, preparing for the next session, and maintaining the Village throughout the session. Speak the target language with villagers and staff members as much as possible. Live in community arrangements as assigned. Model standards for behavior and be sensitive to the health and welfare of villagers. Remain one day after final session for cleanup, inventory, and evaluation. Be at least 16 years of age. Essential Functions Emotional resiliency and cognitive abilities to carry out job responsibilities in a busy, communal environment. Ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional relationships. Good judgment and ability to manage personal needs to maintain a youth-centered program. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals and groups in a respectful and culturally diverse setting. Qualifications Fluency in English. Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record. Excellent record‑keeping skills and attention to detail. Ability to take direction from multiple areas and balance needs of various departments. Proven customer service skills. Strong interpersonal and team communication skills. Demonstrates maturity and good judgment. Ability to oversee and mentor peers. Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to changing situations. Preferred Qualifications Six months office or administrative experience. Availability June 7 – August 16, 2026.
