Environmental Project Manager

Job Description AECOM has an immediate need for a middle to Senior Project Manager (PM V) to support environmental remediation projects in Hawaii and Guam. The position will be based in Honolulu. The role focuses on multiple large‑scale remediation projects in Hawaii and Guam, managing a team of up to 10 people, including subcontractors. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience managing environmental remediation projects of $10 million dollars or greater— including remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial actions for the Federal sector—and a BS in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science with a proven work history in environmental investigation and remediation. Responsibilities Responsible for overall project administration and for establishing project‑specific objectives and policies. Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and serves as the primary liaison between AECOM and the client. Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. Administers the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Holds significant profit/loss responsibility for the assigned project. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. US Citizen, required for access to DoD project sites. Ability to travel at least 10% of the time. Must successfully pass a pre‑employment background check and motor vehicle records check. Sponsorship for this position will not be available now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline. Ability to obtain a DBIDs pass for access to federal military installation sites. Experience with CERCLA and environmental science principles, including site assessment and characterization, remediation, risk assessment, and environmental chemistry. Current 40‑hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications; must meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination. Effective oral and written communication skills. Professional registration. Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports. Knowledge and experience working under State of Hawaii, Department of Health TGM, SCP, and local environmental regulations. Extensive DoD and CLEAN experience in Hawaii and Guam. Proven project estimating experience, preferably in environmental projects. Demonstrated experience with client and regulatory interactions. Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including polished client presentation skills, organization, and time management. Field work may be required, including oversight of subcontractors.
