AMC | Certified Medical Assistant - OB/GYN

Overview: Join a compassionate healthcare team supporting OB/GYN providers by assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks. This role involves patient care under physician supervision, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and comfort throughout care.
  • Accurately document patient interactions and vital signs.
  • Collect and process lab and pathology samples following established protocols.
  • Perform quality and safety checks on testing equipment.
  • Provide patient education as directed by providers.
  • Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies under licensed provider orders.
  • Assist providers during procedures and examinations.
  • Prepare and handle reusable instruments for sterilization.
  • Dispose of biohazard and pharmaceutical waste according to OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment following infection prevention standards.
  • Manage supply inventory in designated areas.
  • Support front desk duties including greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
  • Assist with coding and billing input for insurance and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans.
  • Monitor and respond to electronic communications promptly.
  • Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.
  • Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits.
  • Conduct high-level disinfection procedures as required.
  • Flexibility to float to other clinics as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with national certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations promptly.
  • Strong communication skills with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
  • Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Comfortable with potential exposure to blood or infectious materials.
