Overview: Join a compassionate healthcare team supporting OB/GYN providers by assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks. This role involves patient care under physician supervision, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and comfort throughout care.
- Accurately document patient interactions and vital signs.
- Collect and process lab and pathology samples following established protocols.
- Perform quality and safety checks on testing equipment.
- Provide patient education as directed by providers.
- Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies under licensed provider orders.
- Assist providers during procedures and examinations.
- Prepare and handle reusable instruments for sterilization.
- Dispose of biohazard and pharmaceutical waste according to OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment following infection prevention standards.
- Manage supply inventory in designated areas.
- Support front desk duties including greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
- Assist with coding and billing input for insurance and quality assurance.
- Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans.
- Monitor and respond to electronic communications promptly.
- Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.
- Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits.
- Conduct high-level disinfection procedures as required.
- Flexibility to float to other clinics as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with national certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
- Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations promptly.
- Strong communication skills with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
- Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Comfortable with potential exposure to blood or infectious materials.
