Senior Accounting Coordinator

Senior Accounting Coordinator Manages accounts payable and receivable, maintains bookkeeping records for income, donations, program funds, and ensures integrity of financial data. Supports financial operations by maintaining internal controls, producing accurate financial records, and ensuring timely and compliant financial processes. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for contracts, resource-generated income, donations and contributions, and program-specific funds (including Disability Ministries Committee programs). Process accounts payable and accounts receivable. Record, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions in accordance with organizational policies. Create, distribute, record, and track invoices for the sale of organizational resources. Maintain organized and complete financial documentation to support audits, reviews, and reporting (e.g., project expense tracking). Support adherence to internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance requirements. Qualifications Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance support. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with finance leadership. Experience with NetSuite preferred. This position is located in Washington, DC but can be negotiated to be remote.
