Mechanic II

Mechanic II supports plant operations by making necessary repairs and adjustments to production equipment in a safe and timely manner.

Position responsibilities include:

• Receiving work orders, diagnosing trouble and performing work as required.
• Notifying supervisor of any trouble of a complex nature.
• Diagnosing and making repairs or adjustments to production equipment and water treatment plant equipment such as: Air Compressors, Air dryers, Tenter Frames, Hot Melt machines, Inspection Machines, Dosing System, Openers, Slicers, Slitters, Hoists, Packaging Machines, pumps, etc.
• Performing preventive maintenance work as directed by management.
• Performing a moderate amount of electrical work as directed by management.
• Keeping machinery clean and painted as required.
• Removing snow/ice from designated areas using hand tools.
• Maintaining good housekeeping in work area.
• Following all safety procedures and policies and advising supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
• Any other duties as requested by supervisor.

Essential skills and experience include:

• Possess and maintain general knowledge of all production and support equipment as listed above.
• Proficiency in the use of various hand, power tools, shop tools, plumbing and welding tools, Multimeter for troubleshooting, cleaning and painting equipment.
• Assist with various chemicals in the water treatment plant, lubricants, cleaning solvents, de-watered sludge.
• Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong team player.

• Employees must use prescribed safety equipment & supply own hand tools.

Education requirements:

• HSD/GED
