Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - 2 years of CVICU experience - Capability to float as needed Description: The position requires providing comprehensive care for critically ill adults. Specialties include open-heart surgeries, ventricular assist devices, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, and vascular surgeries. The nursing team utilizes various modalities at the bedside, including vasoactive medications and complete cardiopulmonary support. The unit focuses on holistic health, supportive education, and improved patient outcomes. Nurse-to-patient ratios vary based on patient acuity, ranging from 1:1 to 2:1. Weekend shifts are required as per unit needs. The position may require floating between like units to meet facility needs. Candidates should have prior charge experience preferred. Experience with charting in Epic is preferred. The role includes managing patients with complex cardiac conditions and providing support during critical interventions.
