Mid-Level Control Systems EngineerOur company is seeking a qualified mid-level control systems engineer in Alpharetta, GA, responsible for PLC/HMI programming, system documentation, factory acceptance testing, and field start-up and commissioning activities.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering plus 5 years’ applicable work experience, or combination of education and relevant work experienceStrong proficiency programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred) and HMIs (GE iFIX, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform preferred)Strong proficiency with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communications protocolsSolid grasp of P&ID’s, control panel wiring drawings, and field wiring diagramsDesirable, but not required: Knowledgeable of Electrical Protection RelaysKnowledgeable of Historian systemsKnowledgeable of external notification systems (text, email, mobile app, etc.)Familiarity with DeviceNet and/or Profibus communications protocolsResponsibilitiesParticipates in the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narrativesParticipates in the development and/or review of control panel design packages, field wiring diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, and associated E&I package deliverablesAttends field verification and user requirements gathering walkdownsDevelops PLC/HMI programmingExecutes factory acceptance testingExecutes field start-up and commissioning, including support of troubleshooting activitiesContributes to and participates in client trainingProvides best possible response after hours support for internal/external clients as requiredWorks with applicable Senior Engineering Lead(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure quality of deliverable, budget adherence, etc. Keeps Project Manager(s) informed of progress, issues, need for change order, etc.
