Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute care hospital ICU License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: • Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital ICU experience • Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role Description: Travel Registered Nurse - ICU position available. The unit has 21 beds and 45 staff members. Staffing includes 1 charge nurse with no patient assignment and 6-8 nurses per shift. Patient ratios are 2:1 in ICU, 3:1 for step-down status, and 1:1 for very high acuity. Equipment used includes Hospira IV pumps and EMR is Meditech. Candidates with cardiac experience and CRRT skills are preferred. Typical procedures performed on the unit include intubation, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, vasopressor IV drip titration, and ventilator management. Care is provided for sepsis, arrhythmias, and Med/Surg critical care patients. Ideal candidates should be team-oriented with a good sense of humor. Staff is required to work every third weekend and one major winter holiday. Self-scheduling is available, and staff may float to telemetry and other units. This position is at a small community hospital that primarily handles elective cases. The facility holds a Magnet designation and has intensivists available in the ICU 24/7.
