Inpatient Nurse Manager

Role overview:

Lead best-practice models and patient care delivery standards across multiple locations.
Ensure safe, high-quality care 24/7 by overseeing nursing services and clinical operations.
Collaborate with physicians, external providers, and cross-functional teams to improve outcomes.
Manage staffing, resource allocation, equipment, supplies, and medication use.
Maintain clinical expertise and provide supervision, coaching, and competency validation.
Delegate tasks aligned to scope of practice and perform clinical duties as needed.
Resolve patient, family, and member concerns related to care and services.

Leadership and operations:

Build and develop high-performing teams through hiring, training, and coaching.
Set goals, provide feedback, and drive performance improvement and succession planning.
Lead change management and share best practices across teams and units.
Translate business plans into actionable work and ensure policy and process compliance.
Communicate objectives, plan resources and budgets, and track results.
Remove barriers, address issues, and guide contingency planning.
Oversee administrative functions including safety, HR, labor relations, training, and quality.
Maintain continuous survey readiness and regulatory compliance.
Develop reports, monitor metrics, and drive financial management and cost control.
Lead multidisciplinary teams and complex workstreams with large operational impact.
Ensure emergency preparedness plans are current and staff are trained.
lign patient care processes across departments using data and analytics.
Lead strategic process and technology improvements to enhance quality, service, and efficiency.
Tie improvement metrics to organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Quality, safety, and compliance:

Drive continuous improvement in clinical quality, safety, and standardization.
Ensure compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, TJC, and federal, state, and local regulations.
Implement systems to evaluate and improve patient care across the continuum.

Minimum qualifications:

Five years of experience in patient care delivery.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and five years of experience in business operations, clinical healthcare, or a related field.
Four years of leadership experience.
ctive Registered Nurse license in Oregon at time of hire.
Current Basic Life Support certification.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Patient safety, nursing principles, and evidence-based practice.
Emergency preparedness and change management.
Process improvement and compliance management.
Conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
Healthcare quality standards, legal and regulatory requirements, and confidentiality.
Workforce planning and record management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare information systems.

Nice to have:

Operating Room leadership experience.
Union environment experience.
Strong clinical and leadership background in the OR.
Leadership certifications such as CNOR.

Role details:
