This is a senior-level, strategic role (C14) designed for a leader who embodies a product mindset with deep technical expertise, thriving at the intersection of product management, artificial intelligence, and software engineering.This role specifically focuses on Capital Management and Lending tooling, where these systems are critical for our financial professionals to optimize capital allocation, streamline commercial and retail lending workflows, leverage advanced AI agents for credit underwriting, identify new lending opportunities, and manage risk-weighted assets (RWA) effectively. You will be responsible for shaping the future of our financial products by identifying high-impact opportunities for AI within this domain and leading the end-to-end lifecycle from concept to scaled production.This is not a traditional development role. We are looking for a product-minded technologist who can bridge the gap between complex business challenges faced by Capital Management and Lending professionals and cutting-edge AI solutions for their tooling needs. You will be heavier on the "product" side—defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for these critical tools—while maintaining the deep technical expertise to guide a cross-functional team in building and shipping world-class, AI-powered applications that directly enhance our professionals' capabilities in credit risk assessment, capital optimization, and client servicing.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine the Vision: Own the product strategy for AI initiatives within Capital Management and Lending tooling. Analyse market trends, internal business processes, and user pain points of our Corporate Bankers, Product Bankers and Capital Management Team to identify and champion new opportunities for AI-driven innovation. This includes automated capital allocation workflow, AI-driven risk-weighted asset (RWA) optimization, predictive default modelling, and the deployment of specialized Lending AI agents.Drive the Roadmap: Translate the product vision into a clear, actionable roadmap for Capital Management and Lending AI tooling. Develop and prioritize features, epics, and user stories to guide the engineering team in delivering high-value solutions that empower our business professionals to move faster and make data-driven decisions.Lead from the Front: Act as the key technical and product leader for a dedicated team of engineers focused on Capital Management and Lending solutions. Mentor team members, establish modern engineering best practices, and foster a culture of excellence, rapid iteration, and continuous learning.Bridge Business and Tech: Serve as the primary liaison between Capital Management & Lending business stakeholders, end-users, and the development team. Articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and translate business requirements from the lending and capital adequacy domains into robust technical designs that facilitate business growth and client service.Hands-On Prototyping and Architecture: Be prepared to get hands-on with building proofs-of-concept and initial prototypes to validate ideas quickly, particularly for novel AI applications (such as LLM-based financial document parsing, automated covenant monitoring, and real-time capital stress-testing tools).Champion and Influence: Influence and negotiate with senior leadership within Banking Technology, Capital Management, and Lending to secure buy-in and resources for your product vision. Communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes effectively across all levels of the organization, highlighting the strategic importance of enhanced tooling for business expansion and client satisfaction.Manage Risk and Compliance: Uphold the firm's commitment to risk management and compliance. Ensure that all product decisions and technical implementations for Capital Management and Lending tooling adhere to the highest standards of security, ethics, and regulatory requirements (including Basel III/IV capital adequacy standards, Fair Lending regulations, CCAR stress testing, and internal model risk management policies), safeguarding the firm and its clients.QualificationsExperience: 10+ year of experience with a proven track record of shipping products from concept to launch in a product-centric or entrepreneurial role.Product & Engineering Hybrid: Demonstrated experience in a role that blends product management (defining the "what" and "why") with software engineering (defining the "how"). This role requires a strong product mindset, with deep technical expertise.AI/ML Expertise: Deep subject matter expertise in applying modern AI/ML techniques to solve real-world business problems. Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) for document intelligence, predictive modelling, or generative AI agents is highly desirable, especially in the context of credit risk or financial modelling.Domain Knowledge: A strong understanding of core banking, financial technology, and critically, a deep understanding of Capital Management and Lending processes. This includes credit underwriting, loan lifecycle management, risk-weighted assets (RWA) calculations, capital adequacy frameworks, and the application of AI to drive business growth, opportunity identification, and client servicing within this sector.Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
