Purchasing Manager

Kforce's client, an established nonprofit organization in NYC, is seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing and procurement activities while partnering closely with Finance and Accounts Payable. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing vendor relationships, purchase orders, procurement processes, and operational purchasing needs across the organization. Responsibilities:

• Manage the full purchasing cycle, including purchase orders, vendor communications, and order tracking
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes and negotiate pricing when appropriate
• Prioritize purchases based on operational needs, timelines, and budget considerations
• Maintain vendor relationships and resolve purchasing-related issues
• Reconcile purchase orders and ensure documentation is complete and accurate
• Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor statement issues
• Monitor shipping schedules and communicate delays or supply interruptions to internal stakeholders
• Support travel-related vendor programs and organizational purchasing initiatives
• Track and monitor various operational expenses and vendor accounts
• Assist with procurement reporting, budgeting, and purchasing process improvements
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or vendor management experience
• Experience processing and managing purchase orders
• Experience working closely with Accounts Payable
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Nonprofit experience is a plus
