Job Overview A law firm seeks a Criminal Defense Attorney in Old Town Alexandria, VA, to join their team handling criminal defense matters across Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in litigation and a desire for in-court experience, ready to manage cases from start to finish. Duties Handle cases from inception through resolution, including hearings, motions, and plea negotiations, or trial. Draft and litigate pretrial motions. Negotiate plea agreements and advise clients on litigation risks. Build relationships with clients while developing effective legal strategies. Requirements Licensed in Virginia (DC bar a plus). Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills. 1-5 years litigation experience preferred (will consider exceptional new attorneys). Professional, reliable, and client-focused. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Virginia Law License (Required). Skills Strong legal writing and research abilities. Excellent analytical skills.
