Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with Level I Trauma experience for a hospital Surgical Services position requiring BLS and NBSTSA certification.

Details

• Level I Trauma hospital OR setting
• Day shift, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
• Neuro call requirement of 90-120 hours every 6 weeks
• Uses Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Cerner charting preferred
• 100% floating required within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals

Requirements

• BLS and NBSTSA certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required within the last 1-3 years
• Skill sets required in Neuro, Ortho Trauma and Totals, Neuro Spine, Basic Craniotomy, and VP shunt
• PV skills including AAA repair and thrombectomies
• Trauma skills including splenectomy, organ donation, GSW, and thoracotomies
• Urology skills including cystoscopy and stent placement
• General, GYN, and laparoscopic case experience required
• Basic ENT and Plastics experience required, flap and scope experience preferred
• Oral Max skills, D&C, and laparoscopic-assisted gynecological procedure experience required
• Must demonstrate proficiency level of 3-4 in Neuro and Trauma
• License required if applicable
• 2 supervisor references required

Additional Information

• Supports surgical procedures across Neuro, Trauma, Vascular, Urology, General, GYN, ENT, Plastics, and Oral Max specialties
• Responsible for instrument processing and reprocessing of trauma instruments/trays
• First-time travelers are considered for this position
• Local candidates are accepted at a lower pay package
• Indiana residents are considered local for this position
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Past IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility
