Details ICU setting within a hospital environment Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM) Option of 36 or 48 hours per week Patient ratio of 1:2 Weekend shifts required May float to MS, Stepdown, PCU, ER, or CVICU with a cap of 4 patients while floating Brief orientation provided when floating to other units Requirements Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start Current certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, and BLS (preferred) Minimum 1.5-2 years of ICU experience required Experience with 1:2 patient ratios required Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning Experience managing continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drips, and cardiac drip titration Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation/management Experience with IV insulin protocols and multisystem organ dysfunction management Epic charting experience preferred External ventricular drain (EVD), ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, and post neurosurgery management experience preferred Additional Information Provide critical care nursing services in Neuro ICU and/or Surgical ICU settings Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted Former staff must wait 1 year after separation before returning as a traveler First-time travelers are welcome to apply Travel pairs or groups are not accepted No RTO permitted during the first week of orientation American Traveler Job ID P-729535.
