Details Hospital-based Intensive Care Unit setting Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00) with option of 36 or 48 hours Patient ratio of 1:2 Weekend shifts required May be floated to Med-Surg, Stepdown, PCU, ER, or CVICU with a cap of 4 patients while floating Requirements Active NM or Compact RN license (pending acceptance allowed but must be obtained prior to start) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Current certifications: ACLS, NIHSS required; BLS preferred Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and suctioning Experience with continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure care Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management Experience with IV insulin protocols and isolation precautions/PPE Epic charting experience preferred Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU experience preferred External ventricular drain, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, and post neurosurgery management experience preferred Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention First-time travelers are welcome to apply Must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted Previous staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation Travelers will float to like units within their scope as needed, with brief unit orientation provided American Traveler Job ID P-739967.
