Field Service Technician II

IT Field Technician This role involves providing onsite technical support for a national home improvement retail client. It is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on IT work, troubleshooting, and working in a fast‑paced field environment. Daily travel is expected within a 125+ mile radius, covering locations such as Alexandria, Fairfax, Chantilly, Sterling, Leesburg, Manassas, Gainesville, and Woodbridge. Responsibilities Provide onsite support for IT equipment including POS systems, desktops, printers, thin clients, access points, and network devices. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Perform installations, upgrades, and break/fix support. Support copper and fiber cabling, including basic terminations. Document all work, updates, and resolutions in ticketing systems. Travel daily within a 125+ mile radius (route‑based). Work with remote teams to resolve escalated technical issues. Occasionally work at heights (20–25 feet) and lift up to 25 lbs. Qualifications 1+ year of IT technical support or field technician experience. CompTIA A+ (required), Network+ (preferred). Experience with Windows, macOS, or Linux environments. Familiarity with networking fundamentals and IT hardware. Experience with cabling (copper/fiber) is a plus. Strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver’s license required. Wage Range The hourly rate for this position is between $17.62 - $23.00 per hour, unless the local minimum wage is higher. Factors that may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
