What you will have an opportunity to do:

The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and escorting guests to tables in the restaurant, monitoring the restaurant and all staff, maintaining a courteous and efficient operation of the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions

• Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu.
• Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
• Maintain proper set-up of dining room and enforce uniform and grooming standards of all service personnel on a daily basis. Assign stations to service staff.
• Conduct daily "roll call meetings" to keep staff informed of current promotions, daily specials, guest comments, daily events and pertinent memos.
• Receive, record and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.
• Perform opening and closing duties. Assist others with side work to include cleaning, stocking, and folding napkins.
• Deliver exceptional fine-dining hospitality by providing a polished, welcoming, and personalized first impression that reflects the elevated service standards of Geordie's at Wrigley Mansion.
• Demonstrate proficiency in OpenTable to manage reservations, maintain accurate guest profiles, document preferences, and coordinate special requests and dining arrangements.
• Manage reservation pacing and seating flow to optimize table turnover, balance dining room capacity, and ensure a seamless experience for guests and service staff.
• Prioritize guest recognition by acknowledging returning guests, remembering individual preferences, recognizing special occasions, and anticipating guest needs to create memorable dining experiences.
• Maintain professional communication with guests, management, and front-of-house team members through courteous, clear, and polished interactions in person, over the phone, and through reservation correspondence.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail while managing VIP guests, special requests, waitlists, and seating adjustments in a fast-paced fine-dining environment.

This position is full-time seasonal. Must have availability to work evening dinner service Tuesday - Saturday.

What are we looking for?

Education

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• At least 6-months of customer service experience
• Prior Restaurant Host / Hostess experience, preferred
• Upscale restaurant experience, preferred

Licenses or Certificates

• Food Handler's Card can be obtained post hire
• CPR and First Aid Certification, preferred.
