SJ - Medical Oncology - RN Outpatient

Saint Joseph, MO, United States (On-site) Job Description The RN Outpatient works under the supervision of leadership. The RN Outpatient performs patient assessment and follows established standards and practices for nursing care. May delegate responsibilities and provide clinical oversight to other unlicensed nursing staff. May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers. Responsibilities Greets and prepares patient for provider examination and treatment. Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Assists provider with procedures and properly maintains equipment before and after procedures. Engages in patient/family teaching to achieve the desired patient outcome. Review medical charts for completeness. Documents all medications, refills, telephone conversations and patient visits in the medical record. Monitors the scheduling of patients, answers patient inquiries, and maintains timely flow of patients. Completes assessment/reassessment of patient and documents in medical record. Maintains working knowledge of and implements key standards that effect operation of patient population served. Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others (example: students, orientees). Other duties as assigned Education Graduate of a school of nursing - Required BSN - Preferred Work Experience 1 Year - Nursing experience - Required Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure in state, depending upon designated work location - Required within 90 Days Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days Travel Requirements Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required About Us Mosaic Life Care is a health care system in northwest Missouri.
