Position Overview University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy seeks a full‑time Physical Therapist II to work in Doral, FL. The role provides rehabilitation services under APTA guidelines and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team. Core Job Functions Perform evaluations of new patients to establish goals and treatment plans. Progress patients through treatment levels within their maximum capabilities. Document all evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions. Provide education to patients and families about their medical conditions. Maintain effective communication with the rehabilitation team. Communicate with physicians and staff for additional information and treatment adjustments. Participate in quality and safety improvement activities. Orient, instruct, and direct work activities for assistants and support personnel. Supervise and instruct physical therapy students per professional guidelines. Participate in educational programs for staff, patients, and the community. Represent the University at non‑departmental conferences and seminars. Adhere to University and unit‑level policies, procedures, and safeguard assets. Core Qualifications Doctoral degree in a relevant field (physical therapy). Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Valid State of Florida Physical Therapist license. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Learning Agility – ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols. Teamwork – ability to work collaboratively with others. Technical Proficiency – skilled in office software and relevant computer applications. Communication – strong written and verbal skills. Department‑Specific Qualifications Doctoral degree in physical therapy. Certification and licensing: licensure in physical therapy; board certification or specialty certification through ABPTS or approved program. Experience: minimum 2 years with board certification, 4 years without board certification. Certification as a Clinical Instructor (CI) – 320 hours of instruction. Continuing professional development – fulfillment of 3 professional development/engagement activities from the Clinical ladder Checklist.
