Bartender

Pullman Standard is an upscale cocktail lounge located in the iconic Cummins Station building focused on top-shelf liquor, wine and inventive craft cocktails. We are seeking a skilled and professional Bartender with upscale dining / lounge experience to join our team. As a Bartender, you’ll be the face of our establishment, creating an exceptional experience for our guests through expert mixology, attentive service, and a commitment to maintaining our premium standards. You will craft sophisticated cocktails, maintain an organized and pristine bar area, and collaborate with a team of like‑minded professionals in a fast‑paced, elegant environment. This is not your typical downtown bar and we will be very selective in who we interview. We want candidates who understand and can deliver high‑end service. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and serve a wide range of classic and signature cocktails to guests in a timely, efficient and friendly manner. Engages with guests to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere, promoting repeat business and guest loyalty. Provide an outstanding guest experience, ensuring a positive, memorable interaction with every guest. Offer personalized recommendations based on guests’ preferences and our menu offerings. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and inventory of the bar area, ensuring it is stocked and ready for service. Uphold the highest standards of presentation and product quality with every drink served. Collaborate with management to develop and update cocktail menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and trends. Operate POS system accurately and efficiently; ensuring all food or drink items ordered are rung in and properly accounted for. Manage cash handling and credit card transactions with accuracy. Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as alcohol service laws. The above‑listed duties are not all inclusive. This position is expected to perform other work‑related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Experience Required High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, preferred Proven experience as a Bartender, with a strong understanding of mixology, craft cocktails, and premium spirits. Previous experience working in a high‑end or upscale bar or restaurant is highly preferred. Valid Server Permit from TABC; must obtain permit individually and provide proof of possession upon hire. Must pass a criminal background check Skills and Knowledge Required Must be at least the minimum age required to serve alcohol. Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service. Ability to prepare drinks quickly and accurately. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving guests. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong command of the English language. Ability to listen to and understand guest requests. Good judgment and decision‑making skills. Ability to learn and operate POS system. Reliable, responsible, and dependable. Physical Requirements Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment. Must be able to stand, walk, reach and prepare drinks for prolonged periods. Must be able to push, pull and lift objects from a lower to higher position or move objects horizontally, from position to position. Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
