Shift Leader

For experienced team members ready to step into leadership. You'll run the floor when the manager isn't on-site — opening or closing the store, keeping the team on track, and making sure every guest gets the full Pecan Jacks experience.

What You'll Do

Shift Leaders do everything a Scooper does, plus take ownership of the shift: coaching team members in the moment, handling guest issues that need a manager's touch, and making sure cash, product, and cleanliness standards are met before handing off to the next shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Open or close the store, including cash drawer setup/reconciliation and closing checklists.
• Assign stations and keep the team moving during rushes.
• Coach and correct team members in real time; model the guest-experience standard.
• Monitor product levels, temperatures, and FIFO rotation; flag issues to management.
• Handle guest concerns that go beyond a team member's authority.
• Step in on the floor (scooping, register, cleaning) whenever the shift needs it.
• Report any equipment, safety, or staffing issues to the Store Manager.

Additional Qualifications

• Prior food service, retail, or restaurant experience (leadership experience a plus).
• Comfortable handling cash reconciliation and basic POS troubleshooting.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to keep a level head during busy rushes.

Kitchen Assistant

Great entry point for anyone who wants to be part of the Pecan Jack's team. You'll help keep the kitchen running smoothly behind the scenes — prepping product, keeping things clean and organized, and supporting the crew up front so every guest gets a great experience.

What You'll Do
Kitchen Assistants keep the back-of-house running — prepping ingredients, maintaining stock, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized so the team up front never misses a beat.

Key Responsibilities

• Prep ice cream mix-ins, toppings, and candy-kitchen ingredients to recipe standards
• Receive and store deliveries; rotate stock using FIFO
• Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment; keep prep areas sanitized throughout the shift
• Monitor and log product temperatures and storage conditions
• Restock supplies for the front counter and candy kitchen as needed
• Follow all food safety and cleanliness standards
• Report low stock, equipment issues, or safety concerns to a Shift Leader or Manager

Qualifications

• No experience required — willingness to learn is a must
• Comfortable on your feet and moving quickly during busy periods
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions closely
• Servsafe a plus (or willingness to obtain one)
