We’re bringing two concepts together under one roof in West Ashley—Angel Biscuit Co. by day and Emily Pizza by night.

Mornings are all about scratch-made biscuits, seriously good bagels, and breakfast worth getting out of bed for. By night, we switch gears to handcrafted pizza and a laid-back neighborhood atmosphere built around great food and hospitality. We’re looking for Prep Cooks / Bakers who enjoy working from scratch, care about the details, and understand that great food starts long before service begins. From biscuits in the morning to pizza dough at night, you’ll help build the foundation for everything coming out of our kitchen.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Prep Cook / Baker, you’ll help keep the kitchen prepared, stocked, and ready for service while producing recipes and baked items with consistency, quality, and attention to detail.

You’ll:

• Prepare ingredients and recipes from scratch for both our breakfast and pizza menus.

• Mix, portion, shape, proof, and bake biscuits with a focus on consistency, texture, and quality.

• Prepare, portion, proof, and properly store pizza dough according to recipe and production standards.

• Follow established baking and dough procedures, including accurate weighing, measuring, mixing, temperature control, fermentation, and timing.

• Complete daily prep lists efficiently and help keep the kitchen stocked and ready for service.

• Prepare sauces, proteins, produce, toppings, and other menu components according to recipe and quality standards.

• Safely and properly use mixers, ovens, scales, food processors, knives, and other commercial kitchen equipment.

• Follow recipes and production specifications closely to ensure consistent results every time.

• Properly label, date, rotate, store, and handle ingredients while helping minimize food waste.

• Keep prep areas, equipment, storage areas, and workstations clean, organized, and ready to go.

• Follow food safety, sanitation, allergen, temperature-control, and proper food-handling procedures.

• Communicate with the kitchen team and stay ahead of what is needed for upcoming service.

• Jump in to support the line, dish, or other back-of-house areas when needed.

YOU’LL FIT RIGHT IN IF YOU

• Enjoy working with your hands and take pride in making food from scratch.

• Have previous restaurant prep, baking, pastry, bread, pizza, or scratch-kitchen experience.

• Have experience working with dough; biscuit, bread, or pizza dough experience is a big plus.

• Understand that consistency matters and are comfortable following recipes, weighing and measuring ingredients, and producing the same quality result batch after batch.

• Can stay organized, manage multiple prep projects, and work efficiently.

• Pay attention to the details and take pride in doing the job right.

• Show up on time, ready to work and contribute.

• Are a team player who communicates well and is willing to jump in wherever help is needed.

• Take cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety seriously.

• Are interested in learning new recipes, techniques, and kitchen skills.

• Are available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

• Can perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing for extended periods and safely performing the physical tasks associated with kitchen and baking work.
